Firewind est originaire de Grèce, et apporte un souffle puissant dans le rang des formations power-heavy. Depuis 1998, date de sortie de leur premier disque, Firewind a su se tailler une place de choix sur la scène metal internationale. Après avoir été mené par le charismatique chanteur Chitral Somapala, Firewind s'offre les services d'un nouvel artiste au micro, Apollo Papathanasio, sur leur dernier opus, "The Premonition", sorti en 2008.
Garants d'un heavy metal classique, Firewind n'a jamais brillé par son originalité. Mais il empile des disques de qualité, grâce, notamment, au génial guitariste Gus G. qui n'a de cesse d'affuter ses riffs percutants.
