Naughty By Nature émerge en 1989 sur la scène américaine, d’abord sous le patronyme The New Style. En 1991, Treach, Vin rock et Dj Kay Gee se rebaptisent Naughty By Nature et sortent un album hip-hop éponyme sur le label MCA Records, grâce au patronage de Queen Latifah.
Le premier single du trio infernal, OPP (pour Other's People Parts) contient un sample d'"ABC" des Jacksons Five et fait un carton. En 1993, le single Hip Hop Hoorray extrait de l’album 19 Naughty III accentue la popularité du groupe. Deux ans plus tard, l'album "Poverty's Paradise" gagne un Grammy Award du meilleur album rap. Dj Kay Gee quitte le groupe et se met à la production d’artistes hip-hop sur son label Divine Mill. Le duo Naughty By Nature livre néanmoins l'album "iicons" en 2002. Longue vie à Naughty.
